The time has come to
conclude this blog. Over the past year, as we traveled
around the world, blogging became an invaluable
creative platform for me. And it was such a pleasure to
realize that friends, family and strangers were
enjoying my posts.
But now I am on the cusp of some new projects that will require my undivided attention. Over the next few months Johnny and I will be building out our new studio in Culver City, and simultaneously launching the new video design firm, Be Johnny. In addition to the studio there will be a new website, shows and maybe even a gallery in the future. Whatever we do, you are invited to join us. -Bree

Immersion in the Land of
Oil is an
article about The Center for Land Use
Interpretation's recent residency at the
Mitchell Center for the
Arts in
Houston, TX. I wrote this article for the Summer
issue of ART LIES magazine, which just hit the
newsstands.
Design Science Revolution

There is a "The Design
Science Revolution" sweeping across the cultural
landscape these days.
This group of exciting articles and pictures about the Godfather of the Sustainability movement are most likely in anticipation of the Whitney Museum exhibition, Buckminster Fuller: Starting with the Universe, opening later this month. With the inflated price of oil, food shortages in China and a US recession looming on the horizon, seems we are are primed and ready for Fuller's visionary environmental ideas.

This multipart GUIDE to R.Buckminster Fuller was in GOOD magazine back in 2007
More about Fuller is in some of the first posts to this blog, May 07 MACHINES FOR LIVING.
You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.

Lift Off

We just watched the
launch of the Discovery Space Shuttle from the roof of
the Hard Rock
Cafe in
Orlando, Florida.
Pre-launch preparations on the bus involved watching the NASA channel and engaging in some "space talk"
The perfect eastern facing vantage point for the launch was located on top of the venue
We have LIFT OFF! The fire ball turned into a long trail of smoke as the Shuttle ascended into the atmosphere.

Last night we had a fantastic show in a cool venue called The Tabernacle, which had just reopened after repairing the damage caused by the tornado that ripped through downtown Atlanta a few months ago. The building was built originally as a Baptist mega-church over a hundred years ago and was renovated for the Atlanta Olympics by The House of Blues. This morning we woke up in Miami, Florida where we made the most of our last day-off.
